WASHINGTON, DC - May 7 - Today, Citizens for Responsibility and
Ethics in Washington (CREW) filed two Freedom of Information Act
(FOIA) requests with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
regarding the resignation of EPA Region 5 regional
administration Mary Gade.
As reported, Gade claims she was asked to resign due to her

evaluating Dow Chemical's responsibility for dioxin flowing into
Saginaw Bay and Lake Huron as well as all records from the EPA
that discuss or relate to the role of Mary Gade in evaluating
Dow Chemical's efforts to clean up any environmental hazards
resulting from the flow of dioxin into Saginaw Bay and Lake
Huron.
CREW is also requesting any and all records and
communications between the White House and the EPA concerning
Dow Chemical's Michigan plant's release of dioxin, Dow
Chemical's efforts to clean up dioxin, and Ms. Gade's role in
